Carina Stoetzer has always had a love and passion for dance and the performing arts. She began dancing at the age of three in Connecticut before moving to Florida. Carina grew up in Jacksonville, Florida where she trained at Barbara Thompson School of Dance, in styles such as ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and more. At BTSD she was a competitive dancer for eleven years, and had the opportunity to learn from instructors and mentors such as Barbara Thompson, Paige Thompson, and Paige Ricci. She traveled to compete both regionally and nationally, attended numerous workshops, intensives, and conventions. Alongside her studies at BTSD, Carina majored in dance at both Lavilla and Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, under the instruction of Phyllis Penney, Rhonda Stampalia, Ellie Barrett, and Jennifer Turbyfill. Carina went on to attend Jacksonville University, where she studied with Brian Palmer, Lana Heylock, Michael Lomeka, and James Boyd. At JU she majored in Dance and Minored in Education, graduating with her BA in Dance and Education Certificate K-12. During her time at Jacksonville University, Carina performed in several productions and concerts, and was able to take several master classes and workshops from master teachers and industry choreographers. Carina has also been a member of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts for over a decade.

Since graduating Jacksonville University she has continued her passion for dance education by teaching and choreographing at dance studios in Florida, Texas, and Virginia. During her time in Texas, Carina taught and choreographed for Dorothy Keck Dancers in San Antonio before moving to Virginia.  While in Virginia, Carina was the Director of the Debut and Spotlight programs for young dancers at Dance.tech and had the opportunity to choreograph for the Blacksburg Ballet. She has recently relocated back to Florida and is excited to share her passion for dance and teaching with Julestarz Academy.
